How is July almost over? Here it is, July 25th, and this month’s blog post is finally being written! What can I say, other than a million thank yous! It’s because you have chosen to use our services and refer us to your friends, family, neighbors, and coworkers, that we have been too busy to put our thoughts down into this blog.
So we are more than halfway through 2023. What better time than now, to look back at those goals I set for Red Dog at the beginning of 2023 and ask, “Where are we now, Lisa?”
New in 2023 – HALFWAY POINT UPDATE:
Client Referrals – I instituted a client referral program at the start of this year and quite a few of you have taken advantage, thus receiving discounted services for your pets! Thank you. We will continue providing a $10 credit to anyone who refers Red Dog Pet Services and the referred party books services with us.
Package Discounts – these were instituted at the beginning of the year and we had several of our regular weekly clients take advantage of the perks.
Pet Food Drive – I have not had a chance to implement this one yet, but I am working with the Aiken County Animal Shelter (FOTAS) to iron out the details. I am hoping to do a Pet Food Drive to support their monthly Community Outreach program where they provide pet food to citizens in need. I am thinking of doing it around Thanksgiving and also providing the shelter dogs with dog- and cat-friendly Thanksgiving dinners. Stay tuned for more information!
Play Dates – We have held several of these, otherwise known as “Enrichment Days Out” so far. We pick up your pup for a day spent with the one and only little red dog, Teca. We go hiking, shopping, and picnicking. The pups run and play together in our fully fenced back yard where they chase squirrels, catch frisbees, jump in the splash pad and kiddie pool, chase balls shot out of our pet-friendly automatic ball launcher, run thru agility tunnels and jumps, and more.
Emergency Planning Kit Lunch & Learn – We have held one of these thus far for “Aiken Corgis.” It was a rousing success and plans are underway for several more in the fall when the weather gets a little cooler.
Lifetime Care and Estate Planning for your Pets – I have put this one on hold until I can build a good relationship with a local attorney who has experience in putting together these types of plans. Being the perfectionist that I am, this one takes a lot more legwork than 2023 has allowed me thus far. More to come…
Extra Fees – I got rid of all the extra fees at the beginning of 2023, however, I was forced to start adding a 3.5% surcharge for those paying with Credit Cards.
Monthly Blog Posts – I have tried to do at least one blog post every month. I believe I have come pretty close to achieving that so far. Beginning with this post, I will be sending our blog posts out in a monthly email to all of our active clients, however, if you have missed any, or just want to go back and reread them (because, come on, I know they are scintillating!), you can find them on our website at https://www.reddogpetservices.com/
Last but not least from our 2023 goals……drum roll, please…..
Scheduled Events – I was hoping to schedule at least 1 live/in-person event per quarter. Thus far I can think of 2 that I have done. I hope to be a little more deliberate about scheduling and announcing these for anyone to participate for the remainder of 2023.
If you have read to the end of this post, THANK YOU! Stay tuned for next month’s blog for some other really great things that we have been working on here at Red Dog Pet Services.
If you have comments, questions, or suggestions, I would love to hear them. Shoot me an email at lisa@reddogpetservices.com
Most of all, thank you for being part of the Red Dog Pet Services family. Vicktoria, Krysta, Nicole & I truly appreciate you entrusting us with your pets and homes.
