Know the signals. Don’t correct your dog for those lower rung signals. They are trying to deal with the situation without full on aggression (lower rungs are their way of “shaking off” or trying to warn not to push them to a higher rung). We need to recognize & remove our dogs from the situation causing the stressor, or condition them thru positive reinforcement against that stressor.
